Your expertise. Our capital. A business we build together.
GCLA enables healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs to become true co-owners of their projects. We bring financing, experience and support to grow their business, while preserving their day-to-day autonomy.
We are extremely experienced. We have passed the milestone of 100 million Canadian dollars in assets.

Our model rests on a simple conviction: our partners must be true owners of the projects they build with us.
We offer healthcare professionals and other entrepreneurs a real ownership stake in their projects, allowing them to benefit from the value they help create.
The step between the solo entrepreneur and the large investment fund.
GCLA sits exactly between the two. We create value for healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs: together with them, we design, implement and integrate their exit strategy, with their pre-retirement in mind, in order to build maximum value for their personal wealth.
All while they keep control of their operations, their name and their brand, and benefit from our experience and from the group’s value creation.
Experience
That of an extremely experienced group that has passed the CA$100M milestone in assets.
Credibility
With lenders, sellers and suppliers.
Liquidity
A well-capitalized group, able to finance and guarantee projects.
Added value
Synergies and an exit strategy aimed at increasing the value of your business.
We work to increase the profits and the value of your business.
An independent clinic can be profitable, yet have limited means to negotiate its purchases, recruit or finance its growth.
By bringing together several clinics in the same sector, we can negotiate better terms with suppliers and share certain administrative services. When the savings exceed the cost of those services, profits increase.
A well-organized group can also attract more buyers. Its revenue comes from several locations and its operations depend less on any single professional. A buyer may therefore be willing to pay more for each dollar of earnings.
Here is a purely illustrative example, in Canadian dollars. We keep the same adjusted annual earnings of $500,000, after normal compensation of the professionals and after management fees, but before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
| Valuation assumption | Calculation | Enterprise value before deducting debt |
|---|---|---|
| Price equal to 4 times earnings | $500,000 × 4 | $2,000,000 |
| Price equal to 8 times earnings | $500,000 × 8 | $4,000,000 |
| Price equal to 12 times earnings | $500,000 × 12 | $6,000,000 |
In this example, going from 4 to 8 times earnings doubles the value of the business. Going from 4 to 12 times earnings triples it. This is the value-creation mechanism we seek to leverage, not a guaranteed result.
Because you hold a real ownership stake, you can benefit from this growth. The amount you receive nevertheless depends on your ownership percentage, on debt, on fees and on the terms of your agreement.
We make ownership accessible with no down payment from the professional.
Our financial capacity and our guarantees make it possible, for eligible projects, to put in place financing covering 100% of the acquisition price, with no down payment from the professional partner.
In this model, our group takes on the guarantees agreed upon with the lender. The professional partner does not have to provide a personal guarantee when that condition is confirmed in the financing documents.
You can therefore become an owner without drawing on your savings for the acquisition. The business remains responsible for repaying its loans.
You keep your autonomy and benefit from our experience.
We favour an advisory approach. You run the day-to-day operations, and professional decisions remain in the hands of the professionals concerned.
We support you with acquisitions, financing, management and growth. You have the backing you need to make your decisions and carry out your projects.
You can also invest alongside us in real estate.
Our partners can access investment opportunities in our multi-residential, commercial and land development projects.
This allows them to build wealth beyond their professional practice. Participation is optional and separate from the clinic partnership: capital requirements, potential returns and risks are specific to each project.
A toolbox at your disposal. You choose what is useful to you.
At GCLA, our role is to give you the means to grow your business while respecting your autonomy. You choose the support you need and the people you want to work with.
We own our own accounting firm, which brings together CPAs, auditors and accounting technicians. Two executive assistants round out the resources available to support our partners day to day.
Depending on your needs, these teams can help you with:
- Bookkeeping and monitoring of your business’s finances.
- Preparing and tracking invoice payments.
- Preparing the financial information you need to make decisions.
- Administrative coordination and one-off requests related to your operations.
This support lets you delegate certain tasks and devote more time to your practice, your team and the growth of your business.
You remain free to keep your own accountant and service providers. You can use some of our resources, combine their support with that of your current advisors, or keep working with your own team.
Our approach is built on advice and availability: we put the tools at your disposal, and you decide which ones to use.
Passionate about artificial intelligence, in service of your management.
